National Hualian Special School(NHSS)cooperated with Hualian Branch of Genesis Social Welfare Foundation (GSWF)held the activity “Love 919”: Love Donation in Invoice” to raise invoices for the “Charity Year-end Banquets for Underprivileged” on February 12th. Apart from serving a meal to the old and sick, poor family and the homeless, the activity also hoped to give these people lucky money before the Traditional Chinese New Year, conveying warmth to them through love action.
This activity derived from the activity that Secretary Chang of Hualian Branch of GSWF was invited to NHSS to publicize transportation brain protection on March, 2014; from then on, with Secretary Chang’s close attention and help, NHSS students got more opportunities to walk out of the campus. The ocarina team not only was invited to make performance several times, but it also contacted with Tzu-Chi Foundation. The Foundation gave long-term material assistance to the disadvantaged children.
The“Love 919: Love Donation in Invoice” was held in NHSS on December 23rd last year. The school expected to help those disadvantaged families, provide house service for people in persistent vegetative state and help them pass through. The school hoped students can feel the beauty of stream-liked love that can last long when they were doing charity works. On that day, NHSS also invited teachers and students of second grade from Yichang National Elementary School to join this activity. The activity was launched in the African drum beating performed by students from NHSS. The free rhyme and strong rhythm not only gave a therapy to those severely handicapped students but also offered an opportunity to display their vitality. The climax of this activity was the “Life Education” Publicity conducted by GSWF. The publicity activity with great significance was ended by students exchanging the collected invoices for small gifts.
At the end of this year, the love and public welfare activity held by NHSS, teachers and students, volunteers and charity groups, made it possible for the disadvantaged groups to feel the warmth in the cold winter. We also hope that these activities can be internalized as a love-caring mind and externalized as actions to help other people.
